Epic Destinies Roleplay Group Minutes
January 16, 2010, Patty’s house

The commenced at 18:30 p.m.
In attendance

* - commenced at 19:00.

Journal
• Session started with a general recap missing many names and points of note due to lack of previous records. – Suggest keeping personal records to avoid repeat.

• Kaleb and Kamlanie decided to scout around the docks at Avandra’s Point, the new settlement in the Ruins of Aarad. Followed a trail to a murdered fortune hunter and eventually a ruined cellar. Killed a roguish fortune hunter looting.

• Meet a vendor named, ‘TooToo’ who peddled wares from the Crystal Isle from bizarre animal pelts to strange crystal bladed weapons. He invited us to seek his brother ‘Lodo’ a river runner. Meet Mazary and Illykan prior to taking passage on the Dancing Wasp.

• On boarding the Dancing Wasp Kamlanie took form of Albatross and perched on top of the mast all voyage. This made the crew uneasy. Master ?Thomas? ran the river runner and informed the travelers to remain below deck when instructed. Kaleb was quite ill, unused to travel on rough waters and open sea. Kaleb did make use of the ‘sick bag of holding’ [Johan’s Bag of Holding] for the majority for the voyage, some 6 weeks.

• Ship was attacked by roaming sea demons, the crew were sure it was connected to the albatross. 2 crew members died in the attack, harpooned and dragged overboard. Mazary boiled some sea demons with a liberal application of Hellfire while Illykan dove overboard to combat the demons toe to toe. Kaleb defended the prow from invaders mocking and intimidating them until a four-armed brute lept from the sea to fall prone on dock due to Kalebs reflexes. Kamlanie took Deva form to aid our allies with swift recovery while hindering the demons with mighty spiritual conjurations and elemental power. Illykan rendered a particular foe paste in a might explosion of sea and demon [Dan scored 81 damage on his critical hit].

• Narrowly avoiding running a ground in a reef Master ?Thomas? sailed us to Turrows Bay on the Crystal Isles. The landscape is diverse containing lush jungles, sparkling clear waters, glowing white sand and two volcano’s named Magos and Tagol. Kamlanie in Albatross form dove from the mast into the water where he took aquatic form and headed ashore. The Crew where relived to be rid of the demon bird. Illykan dove overboard only to be scolded by Master ?Thomas? for tax evasion charges and hauled back onto deck.

• Meet ?Taggard? the harbor master, a member of the brass dragon guild, who charges 10gp per head in tax for entry to Turroks Bay. The Brass Dragon guild are a council member guild in the ‘Top 12’ guilds of Harril [The City of Gates]. We inquire if Taggard knew of Childar from the Academy [who has asked us to contact]. While Taggard recalled the name he imparted no more information.

• Mazary mounted his skeletal horse gaining everyones attention. He asked a dock worker for the directions to a decent tavern and was informed that ‘Magos’ Belly was such a place. We make our way there passing a few natives who are around 7 foot tall, dark black/purple skin tone with short ponytails and slender muscular builds. They carry crude crystal tipped weapons.

• ‘Sharky’, the owner of ‘Magos’ Belly greets us and recalls, ‘the arrogant old’ Childar quite fondly. Childar has been leasing a shack from the Duke. He is the highest ranking member of the Brass Dragon Guild here in the Crystal Isles. [They were the first of the Top 12 to claim land here and such collect taxes from most of the holdings]. ‘Sharky’ also goes on to inform us of the general history of the Crystal Isle. The crystals come from the volcano’s themselves but are protected by ‘frog demons’ or ‘Luckrans’. They inhabit the old capitol of the Cocano Empire an age ago after the invasion.

• Went to see the Duke about Childar’s lease. Met with steward ‘Toke’ prior to our audience with Duke Custus. The lease is for building 42 for PartonĂ© Childar and his 6 attendants which was taken out 3 seasons ago. They are now a few weeks behind on taxes.

• A runner showed us the building and we cautiously ventured inside unannounced. Although the door looked as though it had been recently replaced the interior had been completely ransacked. Notes and books strewn on the floor with overturned furniture and other debris. A foul smell permeated the house which got stronger the closer we got to the upstairs bedroom. Inside the decomposing body of a dwarf with bladed cuts on his body and a crystal tipped club through his chest. Kaleb again found use with the ‘sick bag of holding’ even offering to Kamlanie who could no longer tolerate the stench. Kamlanie figured the body had been there for around a week.

• A note found in on the floor read, “Found more info on Otuka-Pok Rawn. Signed, C”.

• Seeking escape from the scene and answers Mazary and Kamlanie headed back to the Magos Belly tavern while Kaleb shadowed them looking for others who may be following. Sharky sold 3 bottles of wine 3 weeks ago to Childar who was accompanied by an Eladrin/Bard, Lady Whiteheart a Gnome, Godar a Deep Sea Dwarf and their human porter. Childar is not a handsome human with his reddish hair and wispy beard although according to Sharky he is an “up himself prat”.

• We spoke to Sharky’s native tribal barmaid who roughly translated Otuka-Pok Rawn as ‘Ocean mother’s will’ and Tagol as ‘death’. The natives pay homage to the small moon in ceremony. She has agreed to help us seek audience with the tribal elders on the morn.

If memory serves, it was in fact Illikan and Kamlanie outside taking it in turns using the "sick bag of holding" in this instance. Even though Kaleb was quite keen , the dice were oddly "against him" when it came to these constitution checks.

Pre notes: Atuka-pok rawn named in the letter found; ocean mothers will
Magos Tagol volcanos.
The dwarf Goda deepseer... We are in Tarako bay.
As Johan chimes in the stench coming from the bag of holding would make Ryan cry. We meet an undertaker who appears to be half elf. For a price he burries the dwarf with a headstone.
The party meets with the Duke, he may be able to help us find the sygil circle.
We begin researching all the notes left in no discernable order by the representatives of the accademy.
Find the ritual book for "create teleportation circle".
Made a scroll for Kamlanie for comprehend language.

Head to Sharky's bar Magos' belly. We get breakfast and try to listen into conversations. Kamlanie sees a man eyeing Johan off. Johan approaches the man and asks for information but is quickly dismissed.
Sharky tells us of a bard that turned up dead. He was apparently tied to the group sent from the accademy. His name begins with an F. We head to the cemetary and ask the undertaker if he knew of the Eladrin Bard who turned up dead and what his name was. The dwarf and a gnome supplied the head stone.
We leave the cemetary and wait for the native Kamlanie had met previously. Hoping to get introduced to the elders of the tribe.
Return to Magos' belly. Greeted by Sharky, then meet Matiel the native girl. She tells us that the elders will meet us this evening.
We head to the meeting and Johan helps Kamlanie perform the ritual so we can communicate with the elders. We are lead into the rain forrest deep into tropical overgrowth. Opened up into a large clearing. Three elderly Kataks and six young fit male Kataks are waiting. One pale skinny elder catches our eye. A plump wrinkly old woman sits exposed in a focal point. Another somewhat elderly male sits close to us and speaks. Kamlanie addresses the elders in their language and explains why we are here. Elder Chel says some cryptic things. Tangal says but no man is accountable for his actions. Our return is seen as a blessing. We are told that Paton Childery had lied to the elders. The luctar teaches that as much as can be lost can be gained. The club used to kill the dwarf was the elders. The elder refers to his crafted weapons as his daughters. The weapon was sold to the winder. He believes that they unleash the evil on the unknown. We are asked to do a task to gain the tribes trust. Luctar the moon godess. We must head to the monument to start our journey. The monument is no longer safe due to the Frog demons. The frog demons carry an awfull disease, all manner of weapons can defeat them.

Magos Tagol luctar(wife of apes?)
three spirits the elders pay homage to. The fourth spirit is the ocean mother. atuko pok rawn.

We meet Aldo. This is the first new trade route in a long time. Childer may have been targeted due to the short cuts he took.
A middle aged halfling walks in and claims tootu is not his cousin.

We leave for the monument at dawn. We get out of town without a fee. Get into a cannoe and paddle out. We are attacked by a large aligator. Mont leads us through the surrounding lagoon. If we head east we will hit the monument

session end.

Session Notes
Session commenced 20 February 2010
We arrive at the banks of the Boundary Lagoon. Johan asks Mont (the tribesman accompanying us) how far the monument is. It will be about an hour travel.
Mazary, Ilikan and Freya are still at the settlement in the crystal bay. They exit the city as evening approaches. Kamlani creates a camp back with the other half of the group. Johan summons Leomunds secret chest and leaves a note for Helga asking her to collect enough iron ore to fill the chest. He leaves 1200 gold pieces for the purchase. Mazary and Ilikan make their way to us. We meet the others in the morning when they swim across the lagoon to us. As they were swimming Mazary is attacked by a fish and more swarm around them. Ilikan managed to punch a fish turning it into some sort of processed fish paste. Mont leads us off towards the monument which is west of here.
As we approach the monument we see a figure quite dark in appearance. Leather armour and robes cover his skin and a mask covers his face. We ask why he is here. It appears he is a sword for hire here to look for a man sent here. He introduces himself as Zero. At first thought he comes across as a bit of a tool. He should fit in well with us. We see the monument which is a figure with its arms outstretched. An opening leads into the base of the monument. The path within is well worn by unusual footprints. There are human footprints there as well. We head in. The path opens up into a room with a door opposite. There are two worn statues of women in alcoves either side of the room. The room is a couple of inches deep with water. We search for secret openings but find nothing. Zero picks the lock on the door and opens it. The water in the room starts to spill into the next. Johan casts true vision and attempts to see anything hidden. The next room has two columns with skeletons chained to them in alcoves either side of the room. A path leads out and turns right from this new room. Again we find another room. In this next room there are decaying corpses and crushed furniture. We search rather thoroughly. There are tree roots coming through the ceiling. A door is half off its hinges on the far wall. We hear noise coming from the next room. There is a Halfling chained to a pillar. The Halfling is ranting. He is covered in bite marks and appears to have been tortured. Kamlani attempts to calm the Halfling. Johan unshackles the Halfling. There is a mosaic of Eliza, a lady in a crescent moon. Ilikan and Mazary euthanize the Halfling and we continue on. The next room has light coming in from above and there is an unlocked door. There is a circular pool of water perpendicular to the door. The water is thick and murky. There is movement in the pond. Mazary puts his foot in the pool and again is bitten by something. We head back to the unlocked door. The handle turns but it is locked from the other side. Ilikan kicks the door and it explodes into a shower of splinters. The room is covered in crystal mosaics of dancing naked women in the lagoon. Ahead of us a corridor heads south east then turns right heading south. Elaborately carved statues in alcoves line the way as we continue. There is a body slumped against the wall in a rather large hall. We approach.
All of a sudden we are surrounded by frog like demonoids. They are hard to attack as they teleport around a lot. We battle for some time but are victorious. We find three bodies lying dead. There is a message in blood on the floor. “Bye Glynda”. It would appear to be the human Zero was sent to find. Out of this room there is a t intersection. The south most way is blocked by a cave in. We head to the room on the north way. Caleb opens the door. There is a small cramped entrance to a room with more broken furniture. We find a secret door with a water weighted opening and Caleb gets badly burnt by a fire trap as we find some treasure. ARGH. We head back to the cave in and find another path leading to a room with hunched figures muttering much in the same way as the Halfling was earlier. Zero becomes insubstantial and goes through the door at the end of the room and opens it for us. There are urns full of water on monoliths around the room. The room contains a soiled mattress and Johan finds a silver necklace. We go back out into the corridor heading north. There is a large pile of skulls. There is an Eladrin covered in rags skulking around and setting skulls in place. Johan confronts the Eladrin who is ranting incessantly. Zero engages the figure in combat. The crazed men from the previous room enter the battle. After a mighty attack from Ilikan the battle is soon over and the Eladrin lays defeated. We search the bodies.
We head on and end up in a strange u shaped room. There is a door on the north and east walls. We look through the north door. There are several smaller frog demons feeding on a body. Johan manages to alarm them and another battle ensues. They are made short work of and we rest for a bit in this room.
Session end.

Session Notes
Session Commenced 6/3/2010

After the combat with the juvenile frog demons, we attempt to regain composure. We appear to be in an old amphitheatre. There are several corpses immersed in the water in this room. We loot the bodies in a regardless manner and rest for a brief period. The door to the east opens and releases slush and water which enters the room.

A rather large frog demon enters the proceeding room. He, or she it is hard to discern, has two very large claws and appears to be brandishing a staff. Zero quickly shrouds the demon and it recoils into the hall from whence it came. Johan gives chase and is hastily followed by Caleb. Caleb nigh runs square into the beast as the rest of the party scrambles to catch up. The demon, finding itself caught off guard, seems to realise that combat is inevitable. Just when the party is ready to fight the frog demon takes its own life by thrusting its almighty claws into its own chest. Upon inspection the staff it was carrying holds a green gem that appears to have some magical properties. Johan pries the gem out and the party moves on.

The party resumes its rest and attempts to recompose. We head back out and take the right passage (straight to the opening) which leads to a pitted circular room. This is another room with light coming from the ceiling. After a poor and ineffective search we head back out and down a narrow undeveloped passage. It appears this passage is newly unearthed.

Soon on our travels Kamlani, whilst in cat form, triggers a trap. It would appear to be a guillotine trap which, luckily for Kamlani, misses the cat and quite forcefully hits Caleb, unluckily for Caleb. Zero takes point insubstantially. Not referring to his efforts but rather to his material form. There is a trap ahead that has already been triggered. We reach a barred door, barred from this side. Zero ethereally looks through the door. There are hunched figures on the other side. We chance it and enter the room. The figures turn out to be prisoners taken in a raid. Due to the almost complete lack of light in this monument no one here knows how long ago this was. The voice of the group is a person named Kaht. After a brief introduction Kamlani gives Kaht some rations which he then distributes among the survivors. Kamlani attempts to heal the victims. One man in particular has severe gangrene and is quite poorly. Kamlani does what he can while Johan casts arcane lock on the door to seal them in until the monument is clear.

The group then head back out and through the amphitheatre. We enter a room we previously overlooked. The room is partially caved in. With little to see here we head back to the pit room. Johan notices movement under the surface of the shallow waters. With some time Kamlani ritualistically dries the water in the immediate area. There it is. We see what appear to be the frog demons in their premature, or lave state. After disposing of these wretched things we head back on our tracks.

We reach the room in which we first encountered the frog demons. The one door we had till now left undisturbed is an ornately carved metallic entrance. The door has the visage of a large savage gorilla presumably Magos. Johan notices the gem he procured earlier gaining incandescence as it nears the door. He holds the gem to the door and it opens unassisted. The door opens into a triangular room. On the east wall almost opposite the adventurers there is a closed door. On the south wall is an opening into a larger room. Within Johan spots a couple of dead frog demons in quite a state of decay. They continue south and cannot see much from the far wall.

Mazary approaches the dead demons. They have been killed by their own it would appear. There are some strange angular walls ahead and some collapsed fascia. We trek on through a room with rotten timber supports. There is a door on the far side. The south wall opens into a 12 by 6 square room. There are two dead humans in this room. They turn out to have some currency on their person and a potion of healing. We find a small crystal native to the area. We hear the sounds of distant babbling. We head on as the water gets deeper.

We round a corner and enter an open chamber. The room contains several frog demons of different calibre, one caster and some crazed civilians. An embattled engagement ensues which had many memorable moments. While the core of our group does the hard work and tackles the body of the enemy forces, Johan invokes an arcane portal and flanks the caster. Using a phantom magic Johan renders the caster helpless, but not before Caleb lands a couple of almighty blows with his scimitars. Once helpless Johan marches up to the caster and entraps it in his storm cage. A feat that is a first for Johan as this was the first field test of this newly mastered spell. A bit of back and forth and the caster in dispatched. Zero makes a valiant effort after proving himself to the group he falls. What seems to be the end for Zero proves to be a similar fate for Johan. Kamlani manages to save Zero and the pair keeps fighting. Johan however seemed to miraculously spring to his feet with a renewed sense of distain for these creatures. The enemies are soon bereft of life and our group is victorious.

After a brief respite we search the area. We find some doubloons and a secret passage. We head down it and enter a room. Once in the door slams shut. An elaborately ornate hour glass appears suspended from a wall and turns over commencing its steady release of the sands within. There is an unassuming button protruding from the architecturally perfect walls. The room is so smooth and perfect it depicts almost unnatural engineering. We watch as the sands trickle into the lower of the two glass bodies. In an almost unanimous panic we struggle to think of a solution. The room has two doors, the one we came in and one opposite on the far wall. Both doors are not opening by conventional methods. Someone presses the button. The hour glass flips but now we are faced with the unnerving sound of sand falling the other way. What to do. Mazary holds the button in. The hour glass levels out on the horizontal plain. There is still no solution. After some quiet contemplation we reach the unspoken decision to accept our fate and wait. As the sands fall we feel a powerful increase of transient magic. It becomes intense and almost unbearable as the last grains fall. Suddenly the very last grain bounces though the opening to the bottom chamber in movement that felt like eternity. There is arcane text appearing on the wall reading. “Patience is a virtue”. Both doors open and we are free. Relieved we move on without saying a word.

We continue on into a room full of crystal mosaics. There is another metallic door. The door bears a symbol of a full circle with five lines coming down. It is possible depicting Tagol. The gem has no effect but the door opens normally. We see a crystal statue of Eliza holding the crescent moon. Light shines in magnificently and refracts through the crystal reflecting her beauty. There are four chests in the room in which we find some invaluable treasure. We attain a large diamond and an enchanted flail from the first. The second contains a large opal and a magic saddle. A sizable pile of gold and a mystic potion is held in the third. Finally the forth chest holds a golden challis and leather armour.

We make our way back to the captives we had previously confined safe in their prison. Once rescued the entire group leaves the monument and sets up camp in the jungle. The air is fresh especially compared with the thick foul stench from within the monument. We are greeted by Mont who thanks us greatly for our efforts. Now we rest.

Session end....6/3/10

After waking from our well deserved rest we head south to the lagoon with our recently liberated captives where we are greeted by a familiar friend. The younger of the Katak elders extended great gratitude for succeeding in liberating their monument / temple from the Frog Demons. They agreed to allow us use of their canoe's to shuttle the newly free men to the other side. He promised a meeting with the other elders in a days time. We took our leave and travelled around the lagoon ourselves by foot.

Upon reaching town we turn a corner to see a local troublemaker trying to extort money from a passerby. Their interlude escalated to armed combat and the passerby showed martial prowess in her defense. Illykan and Kamlanie pressed through the crowd to see close up the scuffle. Illykan was explained the scene by a woman watching and then charged straight for the bully, weapon drawn. The bullies turned to face the charging Goliath only to be assaulted with the enormous axe this man mountain wielded.

After splitting the bully into two very separate pieces we introduced ourselves to the passerby. Her name was Jareth and she was in love with Sune. Mazary showed familiarity with her and they exchanged words. She thanked us for our efforts and we invited her to eat with us at Maggo's Belly.

Off to Maggos' Belly to eat, rest and speak with Sharky. Kaleb deflected eager interest in our exploits but we parleyed for more information regarding a mysterious stranger that had been asking of our group. After some rest at the Academy lodging we wandered back to Maggos' Belly for breakfast and more information. Unfortunately Sharky was else where this morn and we conversed with our dear native barmaid (NPC Name).

After breakfast we meet Mont who takes us to see the Katak elders once again. They are very pleased to have reclaimed their land from the invading demons and conclude our deal with information regarding the Academy Acolyte Childar. Apparently he was seeking the Ataku Pok Rawn. The eldars enlightened us, explaining that it was a collection of their native customs, culture and lore stretching back generations to before their empire toppled.

Childar was apparently heading to the northern isles were another tribe, the Hadat, drew border with their surrounds hedging out unwanted visitors and the like. They are an aggressive tribe who over zealously isolate themselves and their land from outsiders believing all to be agents of wickedness and corruption and a threat to their very existence.

Kaleb is presented with one of the elders daughters as tribute for our achievement and to display the trust the Katak held for our group. With this we shall attempt to parley with the Hadat and seek further information on the where abouts of Childar and the Atuko Pok Rawn.

We head back to town to speak with Sharky about this new information and about the northern isles. We ask our dear native barmaid (NPC Name) about the Hadat and their lands and she recoils of this news. Apparently her brother did not return from and encounter with the Hadat. Sharky greets us warmly offering us a free meal and after organising a rare steak meal for the next morning leaves to busy himself out back. At this time we notice the swordsman Aldo sitting at the bar drinking port.

After a very brief interlude with Aldo we decide to do some supply hunting followed by an early night. The academy house has been ransacked and we are 90% sure we left our door open the whole time we have been out. We tidy and then set ourselves to bed. Our rest is interrupted quite early buy vigilante follows of the goddess of civilization. They toss alchemists fire through a window and lay siege to our lodgings. We tear that shit up. Home ground advantage and waste them breaking their morale and driving the still ambulatory ones off.

Our new companion, Jareth, subdues one and begins a very brief interrogation and subsequent execution in the name of his Patron Deity of Love.....tough love. We roll the bodies out into the street for collection and return to our rest for the evening.

We make our way north through the jungle for a few days before stumbling upon markings and tracks of what we believe to be the Hadat tribal land. We cautiously move through the foliage to uncover a Hadat hunting party. Kaleb and Kamlanie (as a panther) go ahead to make contact and strike a bargain for safe passage to their village for an audience with their elders. While Kaleb tries to explain our intentions and pry information from their burley female elder, Kamlanie's diplomacy wins forth the information of Childar and his last known course. This tribe too has been burned by Childar and his apparent lust for the Atuko Pok Rawn.

We leave their tribe with more clues as to Childars whereabouts and set out toward the volcano Taggol with the strict warning not to return to their lands. After another days travel and a light lunch we arrive at the volcano after a camped nap. Inside this crater we can see a crystal temple floating above the magma. Everyone is awe struck. That's cool.

* Somewhere along the way Illykan became nauseated and vomited into the sick bag of holding currently held by Johan (who may have said a swear but was on mute) *

Session ended. We then touched dicks. Hooray!

Ok seriously, stop vomiting in the god damn bag of holding. All it is doing is costing the party 10 gp every session I'm not there to roleplay cleaning it up.

The party approaches the volcano Tagol. There is a steady competition with the jungle terrain but we manage our way up the face. Those of us that are in tune with the arcane, can sense a flowing current of primal energy. We near the summit. As we pear in we notice a large floating ziggurat hanging above the lava of the volcano. In the distance towards some tall jungle trees and a cliff face we see some Katak homes and a watch tower. Yet our eyes are drawn back to the ziggurat as this is one of the most amazing things we have ever seen. The smell of sulphur is over powering. It almost drowns out the pungent smell of the bag of holding.

A plume of smoke rises from the distant Katak village. We head down through the jungle canopy to the facia of the cliff upon which the village sits. As we enter the village we see some stretched panther skins tanning in the afternoon sun. There are no signs of life as we enter. There are corpses strewn around the opening out front of the main circle of huts. There is still pooled blood of the dirt beneath them. Kamlanie adopts his favoured cat form and skulks around before reporting back to us. We start seeing the presents of some young Katak villages and more bodies as we make our way through the village.

Johan notices a dismembered body whose wounds resemble that inflicted by the frog demons. An elderly female Katak approaches the group. She speaks in a dialect that most of us are unfamiliar with. Caleb however seem to understand her. Her name appears to be Amilta. She tells us through Caleb that Childer brought death with him as he made his way through towards the Volcanos peak. He seems to have recruited an exiled Katak whose crystals had been pulled unceremoniously from his shoulders. Lumbering out of the scrub comes the largest Katak we have ever seen. We learn that this tribe of Katak are simply known as the sages. The tribe guards the temple that is the Ziggurat.

We are told of Kaht the elder who has accompanied Childer to the temple. He has a staff that will allow them access to the temple. Amilta doesn’t seem too interested in helping us further at this juncture. We offer to stay the night as they seem more concerned that the demons will return this eve and finish the tribe off. There are only a few young warriors here and the large Katak fellow. Johan apologises for the injustice done to the natives of this land and hopes they can forgive his association with Childer.

We will stay to assist the villagers protect what is left of their homes. Kamlanie wanders around setting alarming eye rituals to warn us of danger. He takes the extra time to ensure this security system is a permanent fitting. Johan writes a letter to grand master Tumbis telling him of our discoveries in this quest so far. He warns him of Childers intention and explains that the group are hunting him down to end it. Johan then summons Leomunds secret chest and leaves the letter sealed with the academy seal next to a note for Helga to deliver it in person to the academy. He notices that she had followed his previous instructions and filled the chest with iron ore.

We prepare for the battle we believe will ensue this evening. The archers of the village take to the canopy and roof tops. Johan and Caleb take to the watch tower. Night falls and the jungle comes alive with sounds and movement. We wait readied with danger immanent and fear in the air. Then they come. Frog demons and a large drake enter the fray. We battle for some time. Jareth proves her worth trying to protect the villagers. The tower falls and Johan thinking quickly creates an arcane gate in the air leading to the ground next to the tower. A couple of Katak warriors fall. Johan is struck in the air a great distance and appears to start falling to his death. Amazingly he somehow manages to control his descent and enter the portal some 15 meters in the air, as he is transported through the portal he somehow lands on his feet. No one is more shocked than he is. The battle is won by the heroes. After a recovery period Johan documents the events of the night and the group clean up as best they can. Amilta approaches us and offers her gratitude. We will discuss our predicament in the morning.
Session end.

Yo Mamma

We awake. The poison from the drake seems to have affected the very core of Kamlanie, Caleb and Mazary. They awake from nightmares of evil places and fear. Johan offers Caleb a potion of cure disease and slowly it takes effect. The others are given the elixir too. Johan casts the ritual comprehend language and manages a high enough success rate to permanently understand the dialect of the tribe and their writings. Johan then asks Amilta about how to gain entrance to the temple and the staff that Kaht holds. LOL. Amilta doesn’t give too much away just yet but does say we may gain access to the temple to pursue Childer. While the others rest Johan and Jareth discuss religion.

Once rested the group are lead to the summit of Tagol. We caress the shaft of the mountain. LOL. We pass through a rocky causeway covered in runes speaking of Tagol. We see the Ziggurat. It is a fortress monastery that protects the secrets of the Katak. The fortress is of two worlds. That of the mortal world and of the elemental chaos. Amilta has an amulet that will allow us access to the monastery. We believe that once inside we will be recognised by Kaht. If he will not be persuaded to join us we may have to take the staff off him and leave of our own accord. Our connection to the Hadat and the Sages should hopefully have some power though. Amilta mutters a small prayer and an opening appears. A crystal path barely wide enough for Kamlanie to sliver down in snake form is before us.

We cautiously make our way into the temple. The walls are a fine reflective crystal. The magnificence of the reflection is blinding. We approach the first of many intersections. This is a cross road. We head left. There is a pyramid shaped room with a Dias. The Dias contains many interesting artefacts. There is a button on the Dias. We take the items and head down the other opposing path. We enter an almost identical room. The walls in the first room had an image of a cloudy sky where as this room show frozen tundra. We take the items from this room also. All up we attain; a citrine solitaire, a glow stone, 1 ivory statuette of Loctar, 1 silver plated dagger and 1 turquoise. As well as: a golden necklace with a green gem, a silver monocle with a crystal lense of discernment, and a wetstone of venom.

We make our way down the only other path. We trigger a drop plate with a reverse gravity pit trap. We head back to the Dias rooms with the buttons. Johan and kamlanie stay in the right as the others go to the left room. They begin to press the buttons. They eventually cycle through a lot of images including a room with three sets of floating armour, the tundra and the sky. There is also a room with a huntarian in huntarian armour. The most disturbing is a room with Childer and the Katak. Upon the second rotation to this image Johan believes he can be seen by Childer. Childer speaks. He tries to convince Johan to join him. Although interested in the knowledge that could be gained here Johan implores him to yield his endeavours and return to face justice. Childer warns Johan to join him or stay out of his way.

We head back to the pit trap. Right of the trap is a crystal door that we cannot open. Jareth had previously triggered the trap with her shield. Using rope and as much athletic prowess as the group can muster they struggle across the gap. In the next room is the familiar site of the floating armour. In the middle of the room is a statue of a homunculus. The coloured armour is not floating it is alive. Three elementals attack us. One fire, one frost and one lightning. One elemental shouts “Keeper rotate this room”. A door opens that starts sucking us into an elemental vortex. We battle and defeat the elementals. Johan shouts “Keeper rotate this room”. After two of these commands the vortex is closed. After taking the wrong exit and returning to the pit trap, we finally head down the correct path and are teleported by Kamlanie through a pillar of elemental fire.

The group enters a room with the exiled Katak. He is accompanied by a human fighter and a Eladrin. Jareth spends much of the encounter trying to subdue the human fighter to lay down his arms. This proves futile as the battle heats up. Caleb manages the most triumphant and critical hit in the combat killing the Katak. In the final hit of the battle Johan strikes down the Eladrin but inadvertently knocks down Jareth. She gets to her feet and gives Johan the biggest brow beating in a while. Being tired from battle and unwilling to fight a woman Johan concedes this time. They rest a short while before moving on.
Session end.
