I am in.

I am going to spend the two days keeping an ear out for any information on the "demon attack". Well in addition to attending church on the sunday of course. The two nights i will spend in the bar trying to eavesdrop on peoples conversations, in the hope that it will turn up any new information. I will also spend more time trying to comfort the bar maid who witnessed the attack. Hopefully (although i doubt it) she will be able to provide some new information she previously hasn't.

Deputy Tommy lets you know that the Turner's and the McLaughlin's have been feuding so long its probably referanced somewhere in the bible. Apparently the supposed claim jump happened so long ago that the Rockies wern't so strong in the region so there isn't even good information on who had rights to what.

You find the McLaughlin's nursing their wounds down at bills during the evening, after listening to your offer the three brothers sit opened mouth staring at you for a moment before bursting into laughter. When they finally recover their composure some what one of the brothers says,

"Look mister, we appreciate your help in that gunfight last night but does a pretty suit wearing dandy like yourself even know the first thing about minin’? Shit mister if good claims were easy to come buy we wouldn’t be wasting our time here drinkin’ this horse piss!”

Over the two days the story that gets passed around gets more fanciful then you could ever imagine, on the Monday evening you hear one fella telling and old miner that the deamon was 40ft tall, on fire from the tip of his tail to the top of his head and that he bit Stickweeds head off in one go.

Sadie getts hasseled by most on the #1's patrons for the next couple of days about the event, every tin horn and his dog want the story retold and Sadie is looking kind of frazzled by the whole affair. Eventually Sheriff Hicks steps up and says that he will Pistol whip the next son of a bitch who mentions the word Demon or murder in the #1 come hell or high water.

I try and find a guarded young maiden who is open to suggestions of sailing around the world and tell her tales of my grand adventures. I offer her some wine to start with and gradually move on to rum. I suggest a romantic walk in the moonlight and we take a stroll down by the docks. We move around the coastline out of site and sit down on the shore with a half empty bottle. I say to her "Might I favour a kiss m'lady"? and then I proceed make my moves on her eventually violating all of her openings with several parts of my anatomy. When I am finished I make some joke about how she went down like a sunken ship, wipe my dick in her hair and leave her drunk on the sand.

The Sheriff isnt fond of you, not that he seems to be overly fond of anybody. It seems that the Mayors sugestion that he needed your help has made him even less fond of you then most. You spend a good part Sunday trying "to get to know him" before his temper seems to snap and he says:

"Boy when i need the streets filled with lead i will come find ya but untill then git out from under my boots would ya!"

would like to point this out as part of my characters Hindrances.

You’ve heard the expression “nice
guys finish last?” There’s some truth to
it. A true gentleman of the West won’t
draw down on an enemy until the foe
draws first. Boot Hill hides the bones of
many of these honorable folks.
Your hero must live by a code of
honor that not everyone else subscribes
to. He treats all women with respect
even if they’re “soiled doves.” He won’t
draw his gun on others who don’t have
their own weapons drawn (unless he’s
seriously outnumbered and even then
he just uses the guns to threaten first).
In a duel, he always lets his opponent
go for her guns first. And he absolutely
refuses to shoot someone in the back,
or take a shot at a foe who’s distracted
(unless he’s in a large firefight).

On the plus side, folks know your
hombre is one of the white hats. You
can add +2 to any negotiations or
friendly persuasion attempts whenever
your character’s honorable reputation is
known and might make a difference.

well in a way i saved the three brothers from dying. of course i didnt heal them but i tried stopping the fight rather then just shooting them. i tried helping the drunk hanlen boy but he was less then able to be helped. i have dont the church thing and tried to be nice when possible. so i dont know if that classes as honorable.

Thats not a bad start i guess but you have only been in town three days tho, Your reputation as a "good sort" might not have established itself just yet.

If it makes you feel any beter the Sheriff must have thought that you ment well with your actions in the gunfight because he didnt confiscate your guns.

That or he didn't want to see another unarmed man get murdered in his town!
