The 25th is Ethan's 21st birthday, the 1st of next month i am in Thailand, so it would be a month before the next session. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!

As the creeping fingers of winter begin to set in the Iron Dukes make preparations to remove the Ruby Kingdom from their lands.

OK GUYS! Important note here so please read.

This session will be the completion of "season 1" of Power and Gavin. It looks like it will be a bit of a major event, finally trying to free yourself from the Ruby Kingdom so it seems like a good time to pause for a bit. After this session i am going to pause the game for two months and shift the in game time line forward as well (i am not sure how far forward yet, that will depend on what happens this coming session.)

Why am i doing this? Mainly because i think we could all do with stepping away from this game for a while, clearing our heads, recouping and coming back with some fresh ideas. Tensions seem to be high at the moment and the level of fun seems to have tapered off (at least that's how it looks from where i am sitting.)
My plan is to set the date for the first session of season 2 right after the end of next session so there is no confusion about when we will recommence. During this down time i might run something completely different and less time consuming as a sort of pallet cleanser. At the moment im leaning towards a little Dark Heresy.

If you have any questions or comments about this please post them up. If you have any points you wish to air about the game in general feel free to post them also.

Spoke to Tim, he can't play this weekend but we are going ahead anyway because my next available date is the 15th of June.

I am trying to broker a deal that would give the Kingdom a large cash injection for a new 12 month contract via my uncle. Roughly a 40% increase on current income.

  • King Mankar III of the Ruby City sent General Cactus and his men (500 odd) to 'aid' the Iron Ridge. He entrenched them a few days out of Royalwell along our northern border as an embargo against the Rivering Traders Guild.

  • Iron Duke Melchid Rockbiter and co. cleared the undead forces amassing around the Eastern Mountains by felling the Necromancer who had taken residence in the abandoned Dwarven Lookout. Melchid now plans to reunite his people and welcome them into the Iron Ridge proper.

  • Iron Duke Aizen Steelbloom attempted to divert General Cactus by requesting his aid on behalf of Iron Duke Melchid Rockbiter at the Eastern Mountains. General Cactus agreed to request authority from King Mankar III in a letter delivered by Iron Duke Aizen Steelbloom.

  • After rudely being made to wait 3 days for an audience Iron Duke Aizen Steelbloom presented the letter to King Mankar III and discussed the purpose of General Cactus's presence in the Iron Ridge. Negotiations were unsuccessful to resolve the prickly Cactus issue and on behalf of King Brutus Blackwell the Iron Ore contract was broken.

  • Upon return to Iron Ridge, Iron Dukes Micken and Aizen made an unsuccessful attempt on General Cactus's life which has resulted in a Mage and entourage reinforcing in response to the supposed 'Rivering attack on General Cactus'.

  • Consulting with Captain Peach the Dukes strategy is to reinforce Royalwell with ALL available military forces to create a wall (the anvil) to hopefully prevent Cactus's forces from moving south, further into the Iron Ridge. Hire mercenaries (the hammer) from Rivering and Gilf to swarm General Cactus's position and force them to retreat against superior numbers (+/- 10:1).

  • Iron Duke Micken has surmised that the Mage has established some kind of ward in a 10 yard sphere around the entrenched General Cactus. Their encampment houses stores of blackpowder to which Iron Duke Erd Ymir has offered tunneling beneath the encampment (guided by Micken) to 'sinkhole' and capture during the operation.

  • Iron Duke Aizen Steelbloom is brokering a deal to secure a new contact for the Iron Ridge iron which favors neither side in local disputes (Rivering vs. Ruby Kingdom) and promises to be more lucrative and secure as well as offering UP FONT payment for 12 months of supply. Iron Duke Erd Ymir is in favor while King Brutus Blackwell requests Rivering be allowed to make a counter offer.

Aizen will head out to invite mercenaries in Gilf and/or Rivering that would be interested in conducting paid drills and displays of combat as part of our "Friends of Iron" campaign showcasing the men and women of Faraway who make use of our raw product in a refined form every day. (Buying a hammer).

Whilst in Rivering Aizen will make arrangements for our relief supplies for our planned agricultural overhaul to be shipped down (as well as a few items for Erd). He may as well try to recruit any Teachers, Doctors, Religious Advocates (familiar to Iron Ridge), AgLabs or other needed skilled labor shortage required tradespersons or others to move to Iron Ridge touting its rapid expansion and restoration.

If possible try to have all peoples movements coincide with one and another so as to ensure safety for those requiring it. If this is feasible enough include this opportunity of safe passage as another advantage for making the move to Iron Ridge.

You pay each one of your P.I.'s and 222's about 2 gold per month + food, board and equipment.
They also have looting privilege's.

Well 5,000 men for a month is around 10,000 gold. So if Aizen can shop well and haggle well while promoting the 'Friends of Iron" campaign it shouldn't cost more than my upper limit of 15,000.

after i have completed the task of sink holing the black powder and helping out with fortifications at royalwell i will make the necessary preparations to depart for the western range to construct inks tower. While there, my nights will be spent learning as much from ink as i can.
The mage can fly and if he cant carry me i will try to make arrangements with Aizen for a piggy back to my destination as i need to make the most of my time this month.

Once i depart from blackwell, all tradesmen will have the following instructions

1. completion of the freshly constructed houses adjacent to the manor ( 100gp lumber allowance ).
2. travel out to the lumber yards and purchase 500gp worth of supply to be delivered to the manor.
3. cannons are to be received and housed in the basement of the manor (coved up in crates).
4.general repairs are to be carried out on the manor itself.
5.(if anyone needs anything in blackwell built of fixed etc let me know)

no doubt ill add to this in the hour before session starts

You removed the Cactus and his men from your land, secured your self some temporary peace and completed season 1 of Power and Gavin.
