| Ok so now that I am moved, and somewhat settled, and wedding is over, and all the rest of it, I would like to get back into roleplaying, however i will not be able to join in doormatt's campaign as the saturday night is not really that feasible an option for me.
So I am thinking of starting a new campaign, and am putting this out to see if anybody would be interested. I am thinking of running one session every four weeks, on a saturday during the day, rough idea say from noon till 5pm, at my new place.
I do have an idea of what i would like to run, and will put up some initial thoughts on what the campaign will entail tomorrow. The point of this though is to see if there is any interest for this, i would be looking to start in the next month or so.
Any questions feel free to ask.

| I have not decided on a system yet, although i did come across our printed version of teh warcraft roleplay rules yesterday, so that is a possibility. I am open to suggestions though. Ok so some rough ideas to start. It takes place on a small continent, sitting by itself in the middle of a vast ocean, which has gone unnoticed by the rest of the world. This continent, yet to be named, is inhabited by several tribes of nomadic people, who constantly roam the areas the lay claim to. However these tribes are in constant war with each other, and as such boundaries are in constant motion, as one tribe will claim a portion of anothers land, only to lose it to a third tribe days later, which is then reclaimed by the first clan, and so on and so on. What sets each tribe apart from the others is, surprise surprise, religion. Each tribe has their own god that they worship, and believe is more powerful than the gods of their enemy tribes. These gods are in fact, very real, and very present beings, that actually take a direct hand in battles that their tribe is involved in. Some gods are nurturign gods that use their powers to heal their soldiers, others are wrathful gods that hurl fireballs, and lightning at their enemies. What sort of god the players tribe worships will be up to the players, the god will also level like a player, as the players tribe wins more battles, and takes over more land, their god will become more powerful. This campaign will not just be about the winning of battles against other tribes. In fact how you go about conquering them is entirely up to you, if you would rather go with subterfuge, and espionage this is fine. Just remember it may be a good idea to recruit some people rather than kill them, afterall how will you rule an entire continent if you do not have enough people. Ok so this is enough for now i think, there are additons to this going through my head, but that can wait until i see if i have any interest or not. If you have any questions about any of that, please ask. One last thing, I am hoping for at least 3 people as players, but would also not want more than 6. (though i doubt ill get 6 interested people ) | |

| I will pass on this sorry Ryan.
I am still burnt from your lack luster effort in the ME game you ran.
If this goes well then i will be willing to sign up to something you run later.
Best of luck with it. | |

Ok yeah i failed majorly in my choice of rule system, but i actually put a lot of work into the story for ME. You didn't learn the rules at all. You didn't have character sheets ready. You changed a bunch of stuff on everybody characters the second session because you had then read a small portion of the rules. Im not saying you hadn't put some good thought into the story, im just saying your effort where it came to converting it into a game was lack luster.

| fair enough, i did actually read the rule book cover to cover, before we started, and i would argue that at least part of the fault is with the rules contradicting themselves, but then i should have probably picked up on that before the start and found a new rule system. The problem was i was lazy, i did not want to convert the game to pnp myself, i wanted to use someone elses, and did not vet it thoroughly.
aside, appreciate the comments though matt.
I can also assure i will not be making those mistakes again, I am through with running campaigns from games or tv shows, have tried a few times, and failed every time. i obviously just cant pull that off.
although one thought, if the story is turning anyone off, i can start again, or if someone else would like to run something in the time i have proposed, i am open to that too, its the time really that suits me. as i said earlier doormatt, i would like to have played in your campaign, but saturday nights i just cant do atm.

| So I had a thought, if no one is interested in a role play campaign on a Saturday Arvo, what about something else. Dan you have expressed interest in some wow tcg paying, I would be happy to host this, on a Saturday afternoon. If enough people play we can even do some raids | |

| Afternoons on Saturday are hard for me. I teach until 3:30. If we did something after that time we would be coming into the evenings. Why are Saturday nights no good for you Ryan man?
I have D&D alternate Sundays but we could organise like a talisman session regularly or some such. What is wow TCG playing?

With Kallys new job, she is now working on saturdays, during the day, and having sunday monday off, with me studying, and working alternate saturdays, the only night we have where the two of us can go out is a saturday night, she cant do friday night, and i cant do sunday night. - Hornet wrote:

World of Warcraft card game. Between me and Dan we have built many decks, so you dont need any cards, we have more than enough to provide for everyone. And if there is 4-6 people we can raid, where you have one player playing as the raid (ie onyxia, or black temple, or whatnot), and everyone else playign normal decks tryng to take down the raid boss. Going back to the saturday night issue, its not that i cant do anything, its just that anything i do will need to include kal, as it is supposed to be our night, hence why i cannot roleplay on a saturday night, but can during the day cos she will be at work. I might be able to convince her to play talisman though could do that on a saturday evening.

| i would suggest trying to run a d&d game.
run a campaign with a focus on gods like with your tribes idea. so say run a campaign where all the characters are all worshipping a single god or alignment. use this as your focus point for all your players to build their characters.
or run a pre-made d&d campaign with a focus on gods.
keep the rules to something everyone knows and is familiar with so you can let your creative story telling shine.
your me game was cool. the story was good and we managed to get to the story our way and made a great story in getting us there. PS. story.

Unfortunately there is just not enough interest in a role play campaign, dnd or otherwise. All I wanted was to organise something to do while the wife was at work, who would have thought it would be this hard :-( Thanks for the feedback though dan.
