Actually, this forum is really wow on a very accelerated time frame. In the beginning, everyone was here, all the time. Then it slowed down a tad. Now, it just log on, do the daily (check new posts, fling insult where warranted), log off again. PS. You're gay! P.P.S Really really really gay.

| You can't bully people into posting. I put relevant gaming shit up here. I don't just do the daily check. I will try to put more interesting shit up here but it will probably be mostly martial arts stuff. If that doesn't bother any one then..................

| I honestly don't mean to bully people but to strongly urge them to interact with each other. We have set this forum up to be a social hub as well as our gaming archive. I am currently discombobulated that people will sign up to a social forum with the intent to be unsocial. The forum in it's current state is a test. A trial to see what people use it for and how much it is used. I am currently finding it hard to be motivated to improve upon this, let alone sink the required time and funds to have a more tailored and professional looking site when the small, close knit group have only a few closer and tigher knit members using it. Now this may all sound very one sided as though I am trying to push all this upon the group. My motivations here are not as self serving as it might appear. By having a place for us to discuss our game and other social topics I hope to encourage improvement to both our gaming and our social interaction. Our lifestyles may not allow us to see each other as often as we would like but this at least gives us a place where we can all come to together to interact. With relation to our roleplay, I would like to see more peeps expressing themselves in relation to the game. If someone has an idea or wants to achieve something in game then by all means throw it up here and discuss. An example would be if someone is unhappy with the state of play or how things may be going then the adult thing would be to air your thoughts. This forum gives us this opportunity. An even and open place to tackle any number of issues. And moreover I would like to see if there is anything we can do collectively as a group (removed from the DM) to improve our game. The interaction is based purely on the players with the DM to mediate. I would love to hear from other members regarding their thoughts on play, level of roleplay depth, party interaction, storyline and forward planning. In here we have so much opportunity. We can talk in character, out of character, talk mechanics, metagame, anything. Anyways I feel I have begun to babble so ..... get on with it! | |

The results are in. This is how much it us used, and how people use it. - jd wrote:

Honestly, there is no need for a more flashy site. This is, at present. a perfectly functional site for our needs. I understand there is a grand plan to have a massive community based around a website. However, at present, we play once a fortnight and everyone has lives outside of roleplay. As such a constant discussion about a bi-monthly event is likely to be forced. Small tidbits here and there are a more reasonable expectation. - jd wrote:

Personally, I'm having a great time. We all get together, have a few drinks, and play a game. Nobody takes it overly seriously, like we did when we tried to play L5R, which was painful. But it's still decidedly more focused than when we did things like the necromunda or deadlands based 'sim city' things we did. - shamus wrote:

He's not trying to bully people, he's using the forum the way it's meant to be used, to relay a message to the other people in the group. That message approximately translates to " I'm not completely satisfied with the way roleplay is at the moment. I'd like some input in how to make it better."

| I know he's not trying to bully us. That is the problem with text. Tone and inflexion goes out the window. I have already spoken with JD I was just goosing him about his terminology like "post fuckers" and "voyer". I kind of felt dirty. Just in case that was misconstrued I didn't feel any dirtier than I usualy do, again just joking.
I get what you're trying to achieve. It would be good to get all party members to contribute to the way the game goes on a mechanical level as well as a roleplaying level. I would hope players would use this site as a way to think out loud so to speak.
For example I like pie, how can we work that in to our sessions.

| Thanks for the input Deano. That is exactly what I was hoping to achieve. I did state in my 2nd post that I completely understand that people have lives and responsibilities such as the ones you listed pertaining to yourself. And that is why I urge people to use this forum. You certainly don't have to check it everyday. Stopping past when you can to get the 411 and shout out to your peeps is what I am trying to encourage. But 5 mins when you get the chance is all I ask. Now in terms of the roleplay game we enjoy I am trying to make sure everyone is getting an opportunity to voice their thoughts. As Shamus said, - Quote :
- It would be good to get all party members to contribute to the way the game goes on a mechanical level as well as a roleplaying level. I would hope players would use this site as a way to think out loud so to speak.
Now I understand that it is a game. It is a fantasy game where we are the ones to choose how things are and will be. The DM is there as an intermediary between our proposed ideas and in game accomplishments. Ultimately, we choose what we do and how we do it.Further to this Patty wrote, - Quote :
- However, at present, we play once a fortnight and everyone has lives outside of roleplay. As such a constant discussion about a
bi-monthly fortnightly event is likely to be forced. Small tidbits here and there are a more reasonable expectation.
And, as zealous as I may be with this game, I understand that statement completely. But my feelings regarding our interactions remain clear. Patty again sums up well, - Quote :
- He's not trying to bully people, he's using the forum the way it's meant to be used, to relay a message to the other people in the group.
That message approximately translates to " I'm not completely satisfied with the way roleplay is at the moment. I'd like some input in how to make it better." Currently we expect Matty to put his personal time aside to be creative and though provoking in preparation for each session. THEN we all get together and ask Matty to entertain us as his pre-thought stories and plots unfold in response to our interpretations and actions. I know some have prepared back stories for their characters and I hope to help others who have yet to do so. And before anyone tries to parallel what is required by the DM to produce the content for us to play and what is required from us to play, I simply wish to ask, "are we really TRYING to get something of value out of this game?" - Quote :
- We all get together, have a few drinks, and play a game. Nobody takes it overly seriously, like we did when we tried to play L5R, which was painful.
But in that situation I fail to recall anyone voicing their objections. Here we have a forum so everyones voices can be heard and opinions expressed. *Also, I liked L5R. I like to feel my CHR can actually impact the world around.* So my main points seem to be here; - Are we really getting as much out of the game as we want or expect?
- Are we really putting is as much as we could to achieve the above?
- If anyone is having problems coming to terms with this or wants more but is unsure how to go about it then, speak out.
/that is all. | |

You have done well, take this reward. No, I cannot accept that reward.take this rewardNo, I cannot accept that reward.take this rewardNo, I cannot accept that reward.take this reward.OK, now that i've refused three times I can finally take that reward.Going through this kind of thing umpteen times per session was overly serious and painful. Where we're at right now is good. It's kind of a Joss whedon level, for want of a better description.
