yeah i have always been keen to give this a crack.

I like games where i only need a dozen minis to play, means i acctually have a chance of getting an army painted!

Looks cool! Here I am still trying to learn WFB 8th Ed. How regularly do you guys play? What resources do you all ready have? Maybe we could put up a workshop for peeps to learn how to play in the not so distant future? I'm sure the Old Man would be interested too.

awesome what a great response!!!

it is great that you only need a hang full of mini's to play. it also means, for me atleast, that i can put a fair effort into painting them rather than just batching squads units.

well i'll organize a warmachine night. i'll put some dates up soon.

you can down load the quick start rules here, if your interested.

a couple of questions for you Gaz,

1.Are WM and Hord the same game?

2.What armies/factions are you guys colecting at the moment?

I figured you for picking Cryx, i looked at the pictures and they just looked like something which would grab you.

I like the idea of Kahdor or the Mercs myself.

Are the mercs their own seperate army?

How many minitures are involved in a standard sizr game per army?

merc are a stand alone faction. or allies for other factions. have you had a look at some of the hoards groups?

cryx, well i thought i was doing something differnet when i chose them Smile

army size and model count. well that depends Smile the game revolves around your warcaster, who has a battle group of warjacks, and outside of that battle group you can take units and solos. warjacks can cost a lot of points each. a unit of 10 good infantry cost about the same as an average heavy jack. so depends on how you structure your army. if you go jack heavy you'll get to 50 points real quick.

we have been playing around 25 point games. for mike that is 3 heavy jacks and some battle mechanics (small units). mine is usually a few lighter jacks and maybe 6-10 infantry/solo models. there is no really big disadvantage in a jack army over an infantry army, or either over a balanced army. the game is very stratigic and it's really about how you use the models rather than stat lines.

you could quite easily have a 25 pt army with 5 models or 25.

yep, some are considered more powerful. the main differnce is hoardes have warbeasts and warmachines have warjacks. after that there are a few differnces in how the armies work but hoardes and warmachines are warmahoardes.
