You got a 4,

Owen seems to be telling the truth.

He understands that you only wish to hire a boat and he will continue to ask the Captains who come into town.

Regarding your counter offer he looks you dead in the eye and says. "I am nea' a man with the time fe' fussing about over money lad. I made ye' an honest offer but weather ye' take it or not is on your head."

As for a steam engine, after thinking about this he suggests that depending on Xin's opinion on what you bring in if you could get another small vessel like a long boat or a skiff they could probably combine the two fairly quickly to make a maze runner.

I give Owen a big smile.

"You have dealt with my kind before.$300 will suffice. have you use of the wagon? As for the next load you shall have them shortly."

Regarding the steam wagon I discuss a new plan with the following party members. As they were involved heavily in the last job and not just along for the ride I speak with Mr. Doolin, Mr. West, Mr. Macgreggor, and Mr. Steel.

"Gentlemen, I have a plan. I have a long boat that my loyal crewmen returned to me. Mr. Owen Hanlan has said he should be able to convert it into a maze runner with the engine from the steam wagon we recently acquired. Now I would like to go ahead and do that so we can go and repossess my ship. Mr. West you have already expressed an interest in helping me do this. Mr. Doolin you are proving to be a great legal aid and unlikely friend, I hope I have you on board for this. Big MAC, the reward would be greater than the value of the wagon alone so it is in your interest to help in this. Mr. Steel, my ship has a fantastic gaming room you would love and you could stand to learn a lot about long arms on the journey. What do you say? Can I count you in"?

Meh i think we have waited long enough.

Owen seems impressed by the offered long boat and steam wagon.

"These should do nicely lad, nicely indeed! I will get Xin started on the boiler right away and if yea' fancy it i can have that gun there mounted on the prow? All said and done it should be ready to sail by the weeks end and i will do it for yea at the cost of one o' the wagons and load you are planing to bring me. So English... have we reached an accord?"

He offers his hand.

Re-confirming my attendance.

"That all sounds fantastic. You mine fine Scottish friend have a deal. I will retrieve the timber post haste. Let it be said that the Hanlan's know how to do business."

I suggest that Mr. West stay here and rest (obviously) while the rest of us make our way back to retrieve the rest of the timber. We will head off as soon as we have rested an appropriate amount of time and have everything we need for the trip.

I try and find out the best place to sell the supplies we garnered in the Hanlan wagon and suggest we unload that as soon as we can. We will need all 4 horses for now but we should tell Mr. Hanlan that we have returned with the horse and wagon in one piece and that we will not only return with his horse again in a few days but that we will have these three stock horses he can make use of for a deal.

(We could either sell the horse at a good rate or let him have them for the promise of access to his horses and other services in the future. Kind of an open deal).

confirming myself as being signed up for the next session, my session goals; seeing as I am mean to be greedy I will persist on getting the lumber back, and all profits from its sale and the money found in the mining camp to be split up (although i am aware this could happen before the session starts). Also to help Art in his goal to get his ship back as I have never gambled on a ship before and the idea fascinates me. Thirdly I shall try to learn how to shoot a rifle.

These will obviously be dependant on how much we get done between session.

Session Goals:

1. Get back with the timber and get the $300 for the one we are to sell and hand over the other wagon as payment for the long boat conversion with Gatling gun mount. A long boat from a Victorian era galleon could hold a lot so we should be able to load it up with a good crew.

2. Get a couple more people together to take on my mission to chase down the Louisa Grey and find my ship. This includes getting offering Buck Woods the money he quoted to come and help me.

3. Head off and start the next stage of main main goal in getting my ship back.

As for the supply wagon: I say we sell all but, 10 Winchesters, 10 colt army's, 6 crates of ammo and half the dynamite. We should keep this for our own use. Sell everything else that isn't the silver dollars and ghost rock.

Matty how much ghost rock was used in the end?

"Mr. Steel, when I get my ship back I will resume my post as Captain of that wonderful vessel and start back at clearing the scum out of my Maze. I will probably make port here for some time as it will need repairs, in that time if I can use my galleon to help repay my debt to you gentlemen for helping me get it back I will be happy to. I am nothing if not a man of principle how ever self serving they may be at times. I keep my friends close Mr. Steel. Contrary to the old saying I don't keep my enemies closer, I destroy them the second they become my enemies and I get my hands on them."

Ok you get back to town in the first week and have Sawbones Chuck take a look at your leg. Seeing as how is just removing your leg from just above the knee it will require a roll of 5 to stop the bleeding.

4d8 -2 TN:5 Due to using Veterinary

Matt carried out 4 launched of one D8 :

If this is successful you will be at wound rank 5 to your leg until it heals.

Ok the leg is successfully removed, with 5 days of bed rest in the following week you get to make a vigor check to see if your leg heals a wound rank.

Vigor 3d6 +2 (due to bed rest) +1 due to medical aid TN 11

I forgot to factor in the -5 for your wound.

You got an 3 which means your leg remains at wound rank 5 for the next 5 days.

You have one remaining vigor check to see if it heals which is made the day just before next session commences.

As above;

Vigor 3d6 +2 (due to bed rest) +1 due to medical aid -5 due to wound. TN 11

Ok your final outcome was 11 and that was the TN you needed.

After 10 days bed rest your fever breaks and you seem to be on the mend but you aren't out of the woods yet.

Your wound rank drops to 4 and you will be able to make your next check in 5 days.

Your next healing check will be made at TN 9.

Can i advise you continue with the bed rest for the next 5 days other wise you will loose the + 3.

Ok assume you can get half market value selling anything you want to the general store. If you want me to do the maths make an exact list for me of what you are selling.

Hornet wrote:

Going on the estimation that you had 20lbs to begin with your guessing you used 4 lbs or so getting it back to Saint George via the scenic rout.

Yes they can/have been. As to the money that's between you fuckers.

You can only have one session goal per session. Shooting a rifle is an easy enough skill to learn due to your knowledge of how to shoot pistols, It doesn't require to much practice and theoretically you could get your first rank of skill by using one of those Winchesters you found and shooting at birds on your wagon ride back to town (plus spending the bounty points.)

angry_dan wrote:

A prosthetic replacement for your leg will be of no use to you till the stump of your leg has finished healing due to placing your weight on the wounded stump would be damaging and excruciatingly painful. Until then once you consider yourself fit enough to be up and about again you will have to make do with crutches. As to finding a replacement for your leg that comes down to you boy'o, you are going to have to figure out the whos and the hows Razz .

So what’s going on in Saint George?

The flood of fortune hunters continues to flow into town and with it a rapid decline in law and order as Sheriff Hicks struggles to police the ever growing population. Cases of, disturbin’ the peace, assault, theft and rape begin to rise to the point where the Sheriff is forced to take on a new permanent deputy and starts hunting for another. The new deputy is a young Chinese known locally as “Long arm” Wu who’s appointment gets the dander up in a lot of the more respectable white folk in town but due to the influx of Asians and the slightly desperate state o’ things the Mayor ok’s it regardless.

A week after you lot return to town with the first load of timber from the Kwan camp the Hanlan families lumber supplier roll’s into Saint George with a massive triple order for the mayor and a flood of workmen return to constructing many new buildings around the place.

The prices at the #1 Saloon increase to a dollar a day for a room and the general price of wares in most of the stores increase as well.

Upon Mr Doolin return to the #1 he has a letter waiting for him with Jessie Two, apparently a man brought it into town a few days back and wanted $10 for the delivery but Jessie talked him down to $6.

Due to the missing holy man Ezekiel, Jessie Two is reluctantly forced to evict Jack from his room at the #1;
“Look kid I realised you has paid your way but Mr Hanlan wants the room freed up for more important guests, his words not mine Jack. Look here is the dollar n’ a half back for the nights you already paid for and if you come in regular I will make sure Sadie fixes you something to eat.”

And who might this more important guest be? Well the news of this new comer has spread around town like wild fire! A lady by the name of Petunia Grey has taken the vacated room, she is reputed to be a rather prominent agent for the Iron Dragon railway company but it is her strikingly good looks that have most the tongues waging around town.

All so the talk that one of them new fangled flying balloons came to town for a few days during the week, the crewmen spent a day or so looking for some fella' around town but when they weren't able to find him they packed up and left as quick as you like.

So Matty I would like to sell this. I will fairly distribute the funds. So it is safe I will take Mr. Doolin with me as I sell for confirmation of takings.

As for the next trip for timber cam we make our way now and close that section off? Also as we make ready I keep an eye on the timber trade coming in and listen out to see if I can catch wind of whether or not our load was found in the meantime.

Do I see young Jack running around at any stage?

Sweet. So how Owen bought the timber at $300 for the other cart? What did we get for all the supplies? Do I see Jack?

Im going to think on upping my vigor after next session maybe.

Owen bought two of the cart loads of timber for $300 each and took the other as payment for the alterations to your longboat.

I will get back to you about the supplies.

You can see Jack if you and he wish it.

Staying in bed is probably for the best if you want to speed up the recovery of your stump.

Your vigor is currently 3d6;

To raise it to 3d8 will cost you 24 bounty points.

To raise it to 4d6 will cost you 8 bounty points.
