| . So ... - Furl has returned with General Cactus and his men (500) to lend us aid (to put us further in his pocket).
- King Brutus Blackwell wants to nullify our agreement with the Ruby Kingdom to offer our iron ore to Rivering (thank you Trader Topaz!).
- Queen Charlotte in the south (you remember the spiders!?) is sending Bold Stoneheart to the North East to assimilate some natives.
- Given this aid could be useful what would their first appointment be (point them at whom)?
Thoughts? ... | |

| With this intel do you determine that assimilating these natives would be something we should aim at doing first?
Or is there a way we could sour the deal for Bold and have him tied up there for a while dealing with them while we deal with our shit down here?

| Side note, i have added the HOLDINGS that Donk has put forward as reward for satisfactorily establishing defenses for your assigned sector. It will be first come first served regarding choice, so once Donk/the King are satisfied with your efforts you will get to choose and additional holding from King Blackwell right away. | |

First? No. Something we should aim at doing? Yes. See below. - Hornet wrote:

Hmm, if we had infinite resources I would propose: - Send Melchid & troops to (A) Scout and skirmish Bold's forces and (B) defend the native people in a positive diplomatic gesture to open relations and incorporate into our protectorate.
- Send General Cactus to Blackway village on an 'engage and destroy' through the Fallwood to push Queen Charlotte back.
- Seek aid from the Cities in the south to push north against Queen Charlotte, boxing her in and forcing a diplomatic resolution on our terms or annihilation.
But that's just an idea given said resources. Although ... Anyone able to add something to this theory that could lead to an actionable plan? Have a go!

| So what you want to be able to do is give a rough idea of what the ideal situation would be and then ask others to come up with the strategy? Hmmm
Well rather than giving solutions I can give you reasons why that can't work right now.
Melchid is tied up in the east with the new threat of this undead army.
Cactus has no reason for allegiance with our forces.
Time is one of our greatest enemies right now.
If you can come up with something more solid I will help you put it into action. I have never liked the idea of dividing forces more than keeping some at home and the rest focused on one task. My thoughts would be the following.
Melchid is sending word of the threat to the East. The ruby kingdom could stand to profit from helping us eradicate this threat as there are mines in the Eastern mountains that belong to the King of the iron region and will not be accessible while the threat remains. We should convince Furl that fate has placed him at out gates with an army for a reason. He assist us to clear out the undead from the area thus reopening Mungo's Hole. This would allow us to re-broker a deal for the distribution of the iron that is mined and may improve his position. That could also allow us to appease our King by affording us enough product to also trade with rivering.
Once that is done (the reclaiming of the East) we would have greater relations with the villages and villagers therein as well as creating a relationship with the giants. From there we could build a report' with cactus and his men, giving them reason to fight for us else where.
Just my thoughts. | |

| . I MAKE THIS STUFF HAPPEN- Aizen will organise to re-train the 'Ravens' facilitating inter-city / ally communication.
- Aizen will attempt to produce an accurate map of the Iron Ridge region with an emphasis on military stratagem and tactics.
- From this he will divide his territory into 4 x quadrants with which to assign patrols.
- Manpower will be draw from Peach's Irregulars currently numbering only 100 odd men then split north and south 50/50.
- These men shall patrol in 2 x 6 man patrol units in each quadrant.
- The Triple Deuces '222' will patrol (4 x 6 man patrol) in an elliptical route that overlaps Peach's Irregulars own patrol route but limit themselves to the central region including Royalwell and Blackwell.
- Resources will be made available for each patrol to adequately supply them for their assigned patrol routes.
- Patrol units will be informed of their expected role and duties with strict adherence to a binding code of station (punishable by law).
- All this will be passed through General Donk to facilitate officiality and expediency.
Aizen will back this up with his expansive skill repertoire and keen insight into; Animal Handling (Raptors), Falconry, Veterinary, Navigation (Land), Strategy (Land) and Tactics. P.S. I would also like to check on the progress of the stockade prototype and commission the two Alott to be fitted as collapsible crane and wagon.

| The idea sounds good I just don't know if dividing the troops into units that small is wise. The numbers are too small and vulnerable for easy dispatch. | |

Ok, the Keeper has previous experience with holding birds and is already began breading young ravens. These ravens will be trained to return to Blackwell castle upon release.
- Aizen will attempt to produce an accurate map of the Iron Ridge region with an emphasis on military stratagem and tactics.
Utilizing your speed of travel you can generate a map of the iron region in one week (assumed 12hrs per day working on it). Once the week is spent you will make a Cartography roll to determine the quality of the map. For each additional week spent working on the map you gain an additional +1 to your effective skill level. If you default on the skill roll any critical successes only count as a normal success. - Physicist wrote:

P.S. I would also like to check on the progress of the stockade prototype and commission the two Alott to be fitted as collapsible crane and wagon. Remind me what you were doing with the stockade again? who was building it. And ok on the Alot's, they can be outfitted as such for 100g.

| The stockade was to go to Royalwell as a prototype and then roll out as per required.
I don't think it ever got past Dan assigning 12 days to its design but was unable to do so.
So moving on, I would like to get it done. Aizen will speak to someone having this knowledge or someone knowing someone who would have this knowledge to get a fucking move on and make it 3 months ago.
Invoice King Blackwell's military budget or me as a last resort.
Cool, so Alott's organised now prototype stockade plan to make it a reality and move it all out to Royalwell using Alotts to expedite construction. (erecting pre-fabricated structures).
Got a better map idea. Having ALREADY done the travelling, I will just make it now. Then task the Patrols to 'correct' the map. Funnel all that info back into original map and recirculate the updated maps. Division of labor and constant improvement. A SMALLER portion of my time to consolidate and error check.
I pay for the Alotts. | |

What kind of timeline has progressed since leaving Rivering last session? I honestly have no sense of time from all this out of sequence shit. It's kind of MASSIVELY IMPORTANT TO ME to understand this for PvP timings etc... also for understanding just how inefficiently our time is being used.

Alright lets nut this shit out quickly. I know you told me how many men you wished this thing to house but i cant find the post. so for arguments sake a basic timber barracks will cost you 200 gold to build, and will house 10 men. If you wish to house more men it will work as such; each additional 10 men cost 75g. The construction time for one of these barracks will be 1 month + 1 additional week for every additional 10 men to be housed. Your mobile Alot crane will cut construction time by 50% if it is onsite. Basic outfitting for a barraks will cost you 1g per man it is to house. Basic outfitting includes; Furnishings for sleeping, eating, cooking. Basic equipment to repair cloths, armor and weapons. - Physicist wrote:

Ok JD i still don't think this prefabricated barracks idea will work as well for you as you think. I am going to list my thoughts on the idea here, refute them as you wish, then we will come to an agreement and move on. - Spoiler:
Shifting existing houses is beneficial in current days for two man reasons, 1 - its generally cheaper and 2 - its generally faster then building from scratch. But this is the case only if somebody has an existing house on a property they wish to get rid of that they are happy sell or give away. And that the house is sturdy enough to survive relocation. People often sell cheap or give away existing houses because it is far cheaper then having them demolished and disposed of.
You don't have any existing barrack's, you are building new ones. So neither of the above advantages apply to your situation.
You also are possibly thinking down the lines of the prefabricated concrete slabs and how they are utilized today. The advantages of prefabricating slabs is all in the costs of manufacturing. It is much cheaper and quicker to fabricate a concrete slab in a work shop designed for the purpose rather then assembling the form work onsite and doing a pour. It also means you can centralize you workforce in one area and improve your logistical costs because multiple jobs worth of material can all be dropped of in the one delivery.
Most of these advantages don't help in your situation. Firstly all of your barrack's are going to be built from scratch anyway, so the above construction time still stands at most you may cut 10 to 20% off for having a set work area. The barracks will then need to be loaded onto the Alot's and then shipped to where ever its final location shall be. Once they arrive at the intended site you are probably looking at an additional two weeks of construction, spent shoring up footings, final assembly/finishing and repairing any damage received in transit. They will also require a group of tradesmen to follow the Alots and perform the onsite works. You don't have any silly things like "living away from home allowances" so a mobile construction team should cost you the same as having a centralized one. There are more points but i will leave it at that for now.
If instead you load up the Alot's, one with a crane and the other with the lumber. You can dispatch them to a site, construction can commence while the "wagon" Alot heads of to closer locations to reload on timber then heads to the next construction site. This will cut down the amount of tradesmen that will be required for the task, having only a group that follows the Alot's rather then a group with the Alot's and a group at the construction yard.
The logistics are the weak point of this idea. Having the wagon Alot travel back and forth from Balckwell castle to pick up the next Barracks will hamper construction schedules, this goes double for anywhere East of the river.
The big advantage of your idea is barracks's for 'ron. Having a prefab barracks for a site yet unknown then dispatching it as required will work nicely for future on the fly defensive or offensive moves.
The idea could work if you established your construction yard some where more central in the iron ridge, so as to cut down on the travel time for the wagon Alot. In saying that the cost of establishing this construction yard may be more then the savings you make on manufacturing depending on how many barrack's you intend to make ( the more you make the better it works out re construction yard.)
Mainly i'm concerned you may be over complicating an idea for a payoff that may not exist. Anyway, refute as you will.

that they Cool, that will be a cartography roll at -4 effective skill level due to working from memory. - Physicist wrote:

Last you heard it was under the ruler-ship of a religious group calling themselves the "Brothers of Wind". The area is a little volatile so that may not still reign true. - Physicist wrote:

Ehhh Return to Blackwell Furl arrives council meeting you return to Riverring Melchid departs east ... EDIT: I am willing to give you 2 months retroactive time on the Barracks in Royalwell venture as it has been dicking around in the "being done" section for so long.

I spend those 15cp and the remaining cp I had to boost my strength to 20. Thus finally negating the issue with the readied weapon. I believe the use of the weapon in battle justifies my strength increasing.
Once the battle concludes we obviously loot the fuck out of the Dwarven lookout.
My goal this month before heading back is to try and find the Stone Face clan and the rest of my family, where ever they are. Also to get the word out to the villagers that the necromancer is no more and they should rally together to dispatch the straggling undead in the area.

Generally speaking i can't ever foresee me ever having an issue with gradually raising core stats like this. - Hornet wrote:

Yeah i will get to this, hopefully once im home from work today. - Hornet wrote:

The Stone faces are easy enough to locate, it appears the eastern face of the mountain fared better then the west. They had incursions from mindless hordes of undead but nothing they weren't able to repel. The villages themselves are glad to hear of a possible end to their torment, though they will no doubt require assistance dispatching the remaining undead and dealing with the corpses left behind.

| Ok here is the lot items found on Saw and in his Lab/research area.
Saw laboratory: This area looks some where between Frankenstein's laboratory and the bedroom of a lazy, WoW obsessed teenage boy. There are all manner of arcane paraphernalia scattered around the place, from bubbling beakers to a dissected Ogre corpses and everything in between. There are piles of journals, books and scrolls all over the place. Some are old and musty and others seem to be recently written in the same erratic scrawl. There are also many items of you assume to arcane reagents, but as none of you are magically trained in any way that pile of what you think could be eye of newt may actually just be the remains last Wednesdays breakfast that Saw neglected to dispose of.
So to break it down. Magical stuff – Qty = lots. (This probably requires a more knowledgeable eye to assess properly) 500gold in miscalanios coin 300gp worth of asorted small gems Cowl of the Rat King
I will get to what was in the secret stash ASAP
